MINNEAPOLIS, May 9, 2006 -- Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), a global leader in e-commerce outsourcing, was named as an award recipient for Germany’s Top Customer-Oriented Service Provider 2006 at a ceremony held on May 4th in Düsseldorf. Digital River placed 14th in the overall ranking and first in the IT and Telecommunications category.

The prestigious award is issued annually by the Institute of Insurance Economics, University of St. Gallen in Switzerland (I.VW-HSG), Steria Mummert Consulting and the daily financial newspaper, Handelsblatt. The award competition invites 3,300 companies to participate in a rigorous competition to identify the top 100 service-providers in Germany that deliver the very highest level of service to their customers. After the initial application survey review and subsequent e-mail response test phase and analysis, the top ten candidates are audited on their premises by independent judges from the I.VW-HSG.
